Manuel Antonio Guided Tour
Park wildlife spotting tour with expert naturalist guide.
Trek through rainforest and farmland to reach Costa Rica's most spectacular twin waterfalls — with a natural swimming hole at the base.
The Nauyaca Waterfalls are one of Costa Rica's most breathtaking natural wonders — a majestic two-tier cascade dropping 45 meters into a pristine emerald pool surrounded by lush tropical jungle. Located just inland from Manuel Antonio, Nauyaca is the perfect day trip for those who want to venture beyond the national park and discover the wild interior of the Quepos coast.
The journey to Nauyaca Waterfalls is as rewarding as the destination. The 12km roundtrip trail winds through authentic Costa Rican farmland, secondary jungle, and a private reserve rich in biodiversity. Your ICT-certified guide accompanies you throughout, pointing out wildlife, native plant species, and sharing the rich ecological story of this remarkable region.
Along the way, keep your eyes peeled for white-faced capuchin monkeys, coatis foraging on the forest floor, toucans in the canopy, and a huge variety of tropical birds. The trail offers sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean and the Quepos coastline — a reminder of just how spectacular this corner of Costa Rica truly is.
Upon arrival at the falls, you'll have ample time to swim in the crystal-clear natural pool at the base of the main waterfall. With the thundering cascade behind you and dense rainforest on all sides, it's an experience that stays with you for a lifetime. Pack your swimwear and your camera.

The trail is approximately 12km roundtrip (6km each way) on a dirt road and jungle path. The terrain is moderately challenging — mostly gradual elevation with some steeper sections. Good fitness and proper footwear (closed-toe shoes or hiking boots) are recommended. The hike typically takes 2–2.5 hours each way. Horse riding options to the falls can be arranged for those who prefer not to walk.
Yes! One of the highlights of this tour is swimming in the deep, crystal-clear natural pool at the base of the main waterfall. Bring your swimwear and a towel. The water is refreshing and the setting — with the massive waterfall thundering behind you — is absolutely spectacular.
The trail passes through both farmland and jungle, offering great wildlife diversity. You might spot white-faced monkeys, coatis, various toucans and parrots, motmots, and if you're lucky, a glimpse of a tayra or gray fox. Our guide points out all wildlife along the way.
